Every class has good DPS builds and only very few if any endgame instances have tight dps checks. GW2 does have one good thing about balance: player skill mostly matters (except for mech engy - I hate that glass and hope it's nerfed to oblivion). Generally EVERY class has a spec that will near-top the dps charts.
The best builds for dueling tend to have either 1) High Burst and Decent Disengagement abilities (Mirages, Daredevils, Holos) or 2) High Mobility, Sustain and Pressure (Soulbeasts, Warriors). I would probably put the best overall dueling class as Soulbeast, since it has a lot of potentional in the hands of an expert.
Catalyst currently has the highest benchmark I've seen. Yes, including ~43k on small hitbox. Condi willbender has very high damage output (40k IIRC), far higher than power WB which is pretty much on par with DH when running radiance and significantly higher than cFB aswell.
