The split with awd lock on is 50/50 till the speed reaches 30 km/h and will be shifted back to auto mode at 40 km/h. This is how our 2011 works may not be the same on older models.
The AWD and ESC systems on my 08 Santa FE Limited work well with Bridgestone Blizzak tires here in Alaska. I do not think it works as well as my 2005 Volvo S-40's AWD system (Haldex unit) with Dynamic Stability Traction Control (DSTC) also running Bridgestone Blizzak tires.
